Keweenaw Health Foundation’s $25,000 equipment donation an ‘investment in the health of the community’
The Aspirus Fitness Center has provided health and wellness benefits to the community for decades. The fitness center offers flexible membership, fitness classes, personal training sessions and now – thanks to the Keweenaw Health Foundation (KHF) – new equipment.
The KHF recently donated $25,000 to the Aspirus Outpatient Therapies & Fitness Center. The donation will be used to purchase new equipment for fitness members and outpatient therapy patients.
“This is an investment in the health of our community,” said KHF Executive Director Ed Jenich. “We are very proud to support the facility who provides patients and our community with specialized therapy and fitness routines to get back to their best self.”
The Aspirus Outpatient Therapies & Fitness Center is located in Calumet off US Highway 41. Moving in May 2018 from Hecla Street in Laurium, the facility features men’s and women’s locker rooms, showers, sauna areas, greater privacy and comfort for patients, improved parking, and easier access. The combined location supports fitness and rehabilitation for all ages and stages of life.
“We are extremely grateful for the Keweenaw Health Foundation’s partnership,” said Jeff Baril, Director – Regional Therapy Services. “With their help we are able to ensure the health and wellness of our community. The new equipment will be used for years to come and benefit our local communities and the health and wellness of our friends, families and neighbors.”
Aspirus Outpatient Therapies & Fitness Center is located at 25680 Copper King Way in Calumet. For more information, call 906.337.7000 or visit aspirus.org.
